With our unique combination of automated equipment and experienced machinists, at Midwest Precision Inc., we are able to provide custom metal fabrications in any volume. The weldment highlighted here is a custom chassis used for water and gas pipelines. The chassis weighs approximately 200 lbs. and measures 53" in length, 54" in width, and 5" in height. Structural steel pieces were cut and punched using iron working equipment. Hot rolled steel sheet and plate were laser cut or water cut depending on size and shape. We have an automated CNC punching and laser cutting system as well as a 6-axis rotary chuck laser cutting table which allows us to cut formed metal with maximum efficiency.
We milled, drilled, and formed the cut metal components before welding the assembly to customer specifications. Our comprehensive list of in-house fabrication capabilities combined with our ISO 9001:2008 quality certification sets us apart from other fabrication shops in the area. The finished weldment was blasted with abrasive media and powder coated before delivery to the customer. Total turnaround time for this low volume custom weldment was 4 weeks.
